  4. Cleo de Vito says:

At a meeting last night – 15th March – members present voted to object strongly to the proposed GM potato trials. There is a principle in scientific research which states that, given a number of possible routes, the one(s) causing least harm should be pursued. Allowing GM trials in Ireland – especially at this time of national pride – gives Ireland a deservedly poor reputation internationally. In addition, it sets a precedent – any future proposals can cite that GM has previously been allowed.

  5. Seamus Mac Sweeney says:

Until enough is known about the possible longterm effects of GM crops we should not participate in any trials. Being an island nation we are in a better position than most to say that we are GM free and this could be of long term benefit to the country. Lets do the right thing for once in this country and stop interfering with the natural order of things.

  6. Annraoi Campbell says:

NO TO CORRUPTION,NO TO GM !!!

  7. Canice Corr says:

I do not want gm food to be produced in Ireland. We will loose our status as suppliers of food free from genetic modification.
